Atsuhime (Princess Atsu)

Atsuhime (Princess Atsu)

"Atsuhime", who gained popularity in the NHK Taiga drama, was born in Kagoshima Castle as the eldest daughter of the Iesada Shimazu family's teenage head, Tadatake, it became the kitchen of Tokugawa Iesada. After entering Edo, I never returned to my hometown, Kagoshima. The birthplace of the Imaizumi Shimadzu residence does not exist and is now a private site. The graveyard is located at Kaneiji Temple in Ueno, Tokyo (usually closed). On the grounds of the Kagoshima Prefectural History and Art Center Reimeikan, which is built on the site of the Kagoshima (Tsurumaru) Castle Honmaru, there is a statue of Tenshoin (Atsuhime) produced by Shinya Nakamura, the recipient of the Order of Culture.
